Gimbal Systems

Many satellite tracking, camera positioning, and weapons systems have converted to direct drive. Applimotion ULT-H motors are routinely used in these applications where the unique features of low profile, high performance, and large through hole benefit the end result. Recent developments in Slotless ULT-S motors, have allowed them to offer an additional benefit to scanning in Gimbal applications, that advantage is zero cogging and minimized torque ripple.

Turret Rotation

ULT-H high output direct drive frameless motors cover sizes from 15 mm to 535 mm diameter. All motors have large through holes and low profile. Whether it is a gimbal system or just a single axis of turret rotation, the ULT motors perform and deliver. Coupled to high resolution encoder systems and precision bearings, the performance and accuracy cannot be touched by traditional geared mechanical systems. Less parts, lower profile, and smoother operation are just the beginning of what can be done.

Pointing Systems

Low profile, accurate positioning, smooth motion, and low wobble are all critical to the success of precision pointing systems. Applimotion has designed and implemented several government based systems and commercial systems using ULT direct drive motors. Even Applimotion LARC Motors offer advantages when large diameters are a requirement.

Pumping Systems/Cooling Systems

Applimotion ULT frameless motors are routinely integrated into customer designed pumping and cooling systems. In some cases special potting and thermal sensors are used. Special low loss steels and construction can be used to reduce eddy currents and hysteresis. Applimotion ULT-H motors drive direct coupled cooling fan systems.

Limited Angle Torque Motors

Applimotion custom limited angle torque motors can be optimized for initiating your electromechanical system. These single phase devices can be made with or without center tap winding for single or dual direction applications. Slotless versions can offer the performance of a traditional galvanometer. High Speed Gas Mixing

Up to 7.5 kw at 25,000 rpm? Applimotion has a solution. Special high output slotless motors
